T41-2/T41-3 Off-The-Shelf Modules

This is a list of example off-the-shelf modules which are used in the T41-2 and T41-3 series of T41 radios. These modules are easily found on eBay, Amazon, Aliexpress etcetera.

Note that I did not include the Teensy 4.1 or Teensy 4 Audio Shield modules in the list below. Please note that the Teensy 4.1 has additional variants. The page linked below is for the least expensive version.

These modules are available from Sparkfun and possibly some other sources:

The links below are to Amazon, which is my preference because it is so easy. However, the same products are found at the other sources. There may be some variance in quality depending on the vendor. I always order a least one spare of each module just in case.

  1. PCM1808 ADC module. This is a dual-channel ADC module which digitizes the I and Q channels from the QSD2 board.

  2. PCM5102 DAC module. This is a dual-channel DAC module, but only one channel is used in the T41 radio. Here is an example from Amazon:

  3. Si5351 PLL module. This common module is used in the T41-2/T41-3 series of boards (not used in the original T41 or V12). Here is an example from Amazon:

  4. Audio Power Amplifier module. In this case there are many possible choices, however, I prefer to use an amplifier with a mute control input. I also appreciate the efficiency of a Class-D design. This module is my personal preference:

If new off-the-shelf modules are incorporated into T41 designs I will add them here.
